Vote Developwise CIC

Developwise CIC has been shortlist to go before a local panel to get nominated and funded to run our Empowerment Workshops for the people of Luton.  What we need now is the attendance and vote of the people that live in the South Ward in Luton.

If you live in the ward it will be great if you can attend the event and if you can encourage the people you know that live in the southward to attend and vote for us. They will need a document such as a driver’s license, council tax bill, or utility bill to prove their identity and there residence.

The presentation will be on Saturday 4th February 2023 at St Mary’s Church Hall, Church Street, Luton, LU1 3JF.

The doors will open at 9.30am with a prompt 10am start.

In its May 2018 Poverty Needs Assessment, Luton Borough Council stated that poverty was increasing in Luton. The assessment mentioned the significant increase of in work poverty that has contributed to a rise in Child Poverty levels, which are 37 percent across Luton and higher than 40 percent in some wards at that time. This figure we believe has increased due to covid based on a survey we carried out among Luton residents and the well publicised the cost-of-living crisis.

The activity we plan to carry out is to have a haven where people both young and older can come to keep warm for a good part of the day.

We will also be running our Finding The Career You Love Workshop and Creative Goal Setting And Processing Workshop which will help people with the current cost of living crisis.

Below is more information about the workshops and if you have any questions please click the contact us button below and complete the form

There will be a goal setting and processing workshop which will teach the attendees the important of setting financial goals.

Those attending will also learn how to effectively work on their personal goals and create digital and creative products such as story books and fictional books simultaneously.

These they can then use to create videos, video games and apps.

The goal setting and processing workshop will increase the attendance personal aspirations and goals as they will learn how to be more effective at achieving their goals.

They will also be introduced to the creative and digital industries in a manner that is relevant to them.

These are future safe industries, so getting into them would help people to get out of poverty.

We will also have a Finding A Career You Love workshop. During this workshop the attendees will find out the careers that is best for them based on passions, interested, skills and enjoyable experiences.

They will then have a strategy put together for them to get into that career that will include getting into employment.

This will help the attendees to feel better prepared for work.
